 MEDICAL PREFIXES AND SUFFIXES

Medical prefixes and suffixes are word parts used to build medical terminology.

  • Prefix: added at the beginning → modifies meaning.

  • Suffix: added at the end → indicates condition, procedure, or specialty.

  • uni- / mono- → one

  • bi- / di- → two
